The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, under the guidance of the Wellness Committee, has developed a wellness policy that is reviewed by the board every year. Please go to the Board Policy Manual
and reference Policy Number(s) EEE, EEE – R1, and EEE – E1.
The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System believes wellness of staff and students is critical to an effective school and part of a successful community. Healthy children do better in school - from attendance and behavior to academics and overall performance. The Wellness Committee works with the district to help school communities support wellness and academic achievement. The Wellness Committee meets 4 times a year and is comprised of parents/guardians, teachers, school food/nutrition service professionals, health/physical education professionals, mental health professionals, administrators and members of the larger community. If you are interested in being involved with wellness efforts for the district please contact Dorothy Dupree, School Nutrition Coordinator, at (912) 395-1102 or Dorothy.Dupree@sccpss.com.
