The CorkHouse Youth Art Exhibit

We Hear The Earth Sing.jpg

The CorkHouse will be sponsoring an onsite exhibit 'We Hear the Earth Sing' for young artists in their downtown Savannah gallery space this May and June!   This exhibit will be on view from May 3 to June 27, 2021, with an onsite opening socially distanced reception (date to be determined).   We are seeking original artwork in all media to be part of this unique exhibit that pays homage to our wonderful planet and examines ways we can renew and preserve the beauty and health of the earth.

We will also be presenting a special radio broadcast on WRUU also titled 'We Hear the Earth Sing' on April 6, which will feature songs celebrating Earth Day.  Artists are invited to create artwork inspired by one of four songs from that broadcast or choose a song of your own that reflects the theme.  For complete guidelines and instructions for submitting your artwork, parents, students and teachers can email us at: musicinmypaintbrush@gmail.com.  The four songs that will be featured in the April 6th radio show will also be available for on-demand listening from wruu.org as well as on the 'Music in My Paintbrush' facebook page by the beginning of April:   https://www.facebook.com/Music-in-My-Paintbrush-111278030732249

Deadline for submission of artwork is April 23, 2021!  Due to the low number of submissions for our first 'virtual only' art exhibit, we did not think it was appropriate to award prizes.   We will definitely be awarding prizes to the top three entries for this upcoming show, with special recognitions to be awarded to all participating artists and their schools!  This is a unique opportunity to showcase the work of our talented young artists and make a unique contribution to our local community art scene for Spring!
